Homework for Nakara students focuses on parent/child shared reading and individual reading in later years. This policy aims to improve students’ reading skills, allows parents and family members to participate in students’ learning, develops responsibility for self-learning, and encourages reading for enjoyment.

Spelling words and number facts may also be sent home to learn as homework.

Some project work may be given as homework in Upper Primary.

We hope that our students spend their ‘out of school time’ learning from their families.

This may involve cultural experiences, volunteer work in the community, attending family events or adventures, learning social skills and family values, playing sports, or discovering new interests.
