Nakara School Council

The Nakara School Council is the elected voice of parents and is the forum for parent, teacher and community interaction. Council is responsible for a wide range of administrative and decision-making functions within the school in accordance with the Education Act. A strong, cohesive school council which works in partnership with teachers is essential to providing the best possible learning environment for students.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held before the end of March each year and the Council meets on a regular basis thereafter. New office bearers and council members are elected at the AGM, the key criterion for nomination being that you have a child enrolled at the school. Meetings are advertised in the school newsletter and the AGM is also advertised through the NT News.

Whether or not you are elected to the council, you are invited to attend and participate in any meeting, including subcommittees on finance, events, safe routes to school, teaching and learning, and capital works.  We welcome new voices and perspectives.
