The NT Department of Education and Training and Territory Health Services provide support personnel as specialist resources assisting hearing and vision impaired students, and as advisory teachers in areas of Special Education, Gifted and Talented and Behavior Management. Schools may also access the services of speech, physical and occupational therapists. Referral to these services is through the Assistant Principal. It may be initiated by either the school or the parents but requires parental consent prior to any action being taken. Parents of children with learning difficulties being referred to Student Services are asked to ensure their child has had a recent eye check (which can be done at no charge through any optician) and a hearing test. Should you wish to access any of these services, please talk to your child’s teacher.
